Synopsis: In sweeping epic style, the prize-winning Rocco and his Brothers tells the story of four poor Italian brothers and their mother who leave their country home and move to bustling Milan with hopes of improving their bitter fortune. The family is thrown into chaos when two of the brothers are torn apart by their love for the same woman and their struggles to succeed in a viciously competitive world.

Note:

• This was a Italian-French co-production. All dialogue was post-recorded. The principal French actors (Alain Delon, Annie Girardot, Roger Hanin, Suzy Delair) spoke their parts in French, as you can see by observing their lip movements. They were dubbed in the Italian language version, and you can listen to their original voices only in the French sync-version. The voices of the Italian actors only appear in the Italian sync-version, with the exception of Claudia Cardinale who at that point of her career was always dubbed by another actress (because of her unusually dark voice).
